Parakeeto supports multiple "modes" to help you best visualize your data depending on the type of engagement you're trying to scope or measure.
The two available modes are Total Budgets and Monthly (Calendar) in this article we'll break down the key differences between them and how to switch between modes.
Switching Between Modes
To switch between Monthly and Total Budget Modes, use the dropdown menu on the left-hand side of your screen as you're building an estimate.
You can switch between modes at any point as you work on an estimate.
Keep in mind that estimates will be set to Total Budgets by default
About Total Budgets Mode
Total Budgets mode is best used for project-based work that has a fixed start and end date, or fixed deliverables.
This mode displays the sum total of all the hours, fees and budgets on the project, and for reach task/service for the estimate itself and the comparable projects that have been selected.
As an example, a website or video production project that is being billed as a flat, one-time fee would most likely be easiest to assess in the Total Budgets mode.
Notice that with the Total Budgets mode, the vertical axis of the chart shows the total hours, while the horizontal axis shows total fees.
About Monthly (Calendar) Mode
Monthly (Calendar) mode is best used for recurring work that is billed on a monthly basis or has budgets that reset every month.
This mode displays the hours, fees and budgets broken down for each month for both the estimate and the comparable projects.
As an example, a monthly PPC retainer would most likely be easiest to assess using the Monthly (Calendar) mode.
Notice that in the monthly mode, the vertical axis shows the hours used, and the horizontal axis shows the date stamps for each month.
The dates along the horizontal axis will be displayed based on the first month in which time was logged for one of the selected comparable projects and will look forward up to 12 months.
